Jong PSV – Eindhoven FC TIPS from insiders (29.01.2018)

Young PSV last week won a nice victory in Doetinchem at De Graafschap and therefore will be confidently working towards the derby against FC Eindhoven. The youngsters are favorite in advance to win the winnings.

Jong PSV :

Young PSV did not start the season too well, but by the end of 2017 the youngsters of the Eindhoven team showed that a place in the top five of the Jupiler League is a realistic goal. The team of coach Dennis Haar jerked up to the top regions of the rankings and that made for a satisfied feeling for the players and the staff. It was a big disappointment that the first game of the new year resulted in an acid loss against the swaying Helmond Sport. The team from Eindhoven may give an excuse as Her had to improvise a lot to come to his best eleven. Most talented players were with the first team on training camp to the United States. Young PSV still opened the score, but after half time, he faced two goals: 1-2.

Last week Jong PSV recovered nicely by winning on the Vijverberg of De Graafschap. Outings such as this one in a relatively large stadium are anything but easy for a formation like that of Jong PSV, but the men of Haar were very enthusiastic about it. To take the three points home, the visitors had to go very deeply. After twelve minutes of play the Superboeren already led 2-0, but Cody Gakpo quickly reduced the margin on the board to a goal. The game then seemed to be heading towards a 2-1 final score, but the Eindhoven team had saved the best for the last time. Dante Rigo put the 2-2 on the board by scoring from the dot with nine minutes to play and then Gakpo made the party complete by winning the winning in the last minute against the ropes.

Young PSV will now concentrate on the derby against FC Eindhoven and it is in line with the expectation that Haar’s team will have a lot of qualities this time. The game is played on a Monday and that offers players who have not succeeded in making minutes in the Eredivisie the chance to get some rhythm. Armando Obispo, Eloy Room, Sam Lammers, Ramon-Pascal Lundqvist, Donyell Malen, Mauro Junior and Albert Gudmundsson belong to those players who are currently hanging in between the first team and Jong PSV. They could just take action on Monday night.

Eindhoven FC:

FC Eindhoven has a first half of the season behind the back that will not immediately have satisfied faces with the supporters. The blue-whites are able to win from every team in the Jupiler League on a good day, but the Brabanders also sometimes want to drop through the lower limit and that is exactly the problem. The lack of stability remains a factor and FC Eindhoven therefore has trouble leaving the middle part, something that will be needed to achieve the target.

On the administrative level it was anything but quiet. Trainer Wilfred van Leeuwen, who was given the opportunity by FC Eindhoven to show his qualities in professional football, let the club know by the end of 2017 that this would also be his last year and after the game against Telstar brought the club outwards that Van Leeuwen had left FC Eindhoven. The Eindhoven team therefore had to search for a new trainer and that has already resulted in the appointment of David Nascimento. The former player of, among others, FC Utrecht has already done a long journey as coach and at FC Eindhoven he now has the opportunity to take a Dutch team under his wing.

Nascimento can go straight to the game because FC Eindhoven will have to show against Jong PSV that they have not forgotten to play football. 2018 started quite well with a narrow 2-1 victory at FC Emmen, but last week the Brabanders were swept off the ground by Telstar. The sensation of the season had scored four times in fifty minutes and then took it easy. This resulted in a 4-1 final score.

FC Eindhoven will again kick off against PSV without any basic players on the field. This has actually been the case for the whole season, which is a big downer, and therefore the basic setup will not be too surprising. It will be interesting to see if Nascimento will use a different tactic, or whether he will give other players a chance.
