Champions League Free Betting Tips (2nd matchday, Wednesday)

Dortmund against Zenit under pressure, Leipzig is hoping for points with the Red Devils

In the Champions League, things happen in quick succession. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Europe’s best club teams will appear on the big stage for the second time in order to conclude the group phase on time by December 9th, 2020. If you then manage to qualify for the Round of 16, you have around two months to prepare for the knockout round (February 16 – March 17, 2020). For Borussia Dortmund, the second matchday is already of enormous importance, because after the weak start in Rome (1: 3 against Lazio), BVB urgently needs the first points against Zenit St. Petersburg. The Russian premier league champions screwed up the group started as did the German runner-up, which gives the game on Wednesday evening in Signal-Iduna-Park a special flavour, as both clubs are now under pressure. Julian Nagelsmann’s team started the new premier class season better. RB Leipzig drove against the Turkish representative Basaksehir FK a sovereign 2-0 home win, which the Saxons were able to create a small cushion in the difficult group H. On the 2nd CL matchday, the Bundesliga leaders head to Manchester to take on the Red Devils in the venerable Old Trafford Stadium. The English record champions surprisingly won 2-1 against last year’s finalists Paris St. Germain, which gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team an excellent starting position. At the meeting of the two victorious teams on Wednesday evening, it’s not just about leading the table, but also about taking the next step towards the round of 16.

Borussia Dortmund has now put away the 1: 3 opening defeat in the premier class against Lazio Rome and has been able to rehabilitate itself with a successful Revier derby (3: 0 against FC Schalke 04). Now it is for BVB to prepare for the next important test in the Champions League, which is due on Wednesday evening in the home arena. Haaland, Reus & Co then have to deal with the Russian soccer champion Zenit St. Petersburg, who may appear harmless on paper but has some high-quality players in his ranks. Zenit is led by captain and centre forward Artem Dzyuba, who is supported by several prominent South Americans (Wendel, Malcom, Wilmar Barrios and Douglas Santos). Last year, coach Sergey Semak’s team won the Russian Premier League with a 15-point lead. This season the ease seems to have been lost because the defending champion is currently only second in the national championship behind Spartak Moscow. Zenit receives additional pressure in the table from clubs such as CSKA Moscow, Lok. Moscow and Dynamo Moscow competing in close proximity.

The start of the Champions League could not have been more bitter for St. Petersburg. Zenit lost their home game against the Belgian champions Club Bruges with a last-minute goal in the third minute of stoppage time. But that’s not all, because Zenit also ended the championship game against league rivals, Rubin Kazan, at the weekend with a 2-1 defeat. In Dortmund, the Russians slip into the role of the underdog, perhaps to get to the first points in Group F and thus forget the last two games.

After the weak CL start in Rome, BVB quickly got back on the road to success. In the Revierderby, Schwarzgelb got the necessary momentum back, which is now supposed to help in the premier class to defeat Zenit St. Petersburg. Borussia is clearly set as the top favourite by the bookmakers, which we can subscribe to without much pretence. A tough game like the last one in the Bundesliga against Schalke is to be expected, in which Dortmund will have to be very patient in order to break through the defensive bulwark of the Russians. With Edel striker Erling Haaland, BVB has the trump card on their side, which moves us to a winning bet with a goal from the Norwegian.

Manchester United vs RB Leipzig Free Betting Tips

Manchester United got off to a furious start into the new Champions League season. Completely unexpected but ultimately well deserved, the Red Devils defeated the French series champion Paris St. Germain in Paris, which gives the English in the difficult Group H a not insignificant advantage for the upcoming tasks. Once again, youngster Marcus Rashford made the difference, who shocked the Tuchel team with the 2-1 winner shortly before the end of the game. Bruno Fernandes had previously given the British record champions the lead with a penalty kick before Anthony Martial put the ball in his own case to make it 1-1 in the meantime after the break. While United was able to leave an exclamation mark with the surprise coup in Prinzenpark, the Premier League start was rather slow for the British record champions. Of five league games played, United have only won two, not a single game in their own stadium. Last weekend Manchester had to compete with Chelsea in the top game.

The Red Devils were slightly overweight and had slightly better scoring chances, but the Solskjaer squad still couldn’t get past a 0-0. RB Leipzig, on the other hand, had a real dream start to the new season. First place in the Bundesliga, plus a made-to-measure debut in the Champions League. The Saxons are travelling to Manchester with a big chest, especially since Julian Nagelsmann’s team proved impressively last season that they can keep up with the international top elite. RBL advanced to the CL semifinals last season before Neymar & Co sealed the fate of the Leipzig team. For the first time in the club’s history, the Red Bulls will play a competitive game against Manchester United. With a point gain from the Premier League representative, the Bundesliga leaders could certainly live well.

On Wednesday evening, RB Leipzig debuts for the first time at Old Trafford. What has long been considered a safe fortress from a Manchester perspective is an easy castle to take this season. United have not won a game in their own stadium since the start of the season. Crystal Palace defeated the Red Devils 3-1 in the season premiere, two weeks later they set a historic 6-1 defeat against rivals Tottenham. United was able to remedy the problems on the defensive in the last home appearance against Chelsea, even if this was at the expense of the offensive. In the premier class, we expect significantly more goals again, especially since the offensive qualities of both clubs are undisputed. In our opinion, it will ring on both sides, but we would rather not commit ourselves to a winner.

Insider Tips: Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
Odds: 2.10
